German Coin/Token Need Help To Identify | Ramelsloh Medal

I suspect it's a souvenir medal from the place named upon it: Ramelsloh is the name of a small village near Hamburg. "Luneberger Heide" is German for the Luneberg Heath, a patch of wilderness in north-central Germany just to the south of the village. The German version of the Ramelsloh Wikipedia page is a little less brief, and also shows the coat of arms and a pic of the church depicted on the coin. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff

Ramelsloh has been part of the municipality of Seevetal for about 30 years, so I guess your medal is older. But of course there were later occasions to issue such medals too. The church depicted went through a major reconstruction around 1888, so the piece may be from 1988. Just a guess though. The three-digit figure (985?) on the "church side" of the medal indicates the silver content. Christian Report this Post to the Staff
