I just went and it will still let me put in a order it just says it one backorder. so I don't know you still might be able to order them. If you are really wanting them I would go back to the usmint site and try again

If you read carefully, in red font, it says that the max order limit of 250,000 sets has been reached. Now they will still take orders, based solely on anticipating canceled orders. I don't think many people will be canceling these orders if they can help it.

Hi folks, just now entered an order for two more of the ASE anniversary sets, with no red letters, no alerts, nothing at all out of the ordinary...and I know ordinary, I do place quite a few orders with the usmint...got my order number, and expected delivery date of 12/8/06, which is boilerplate, by the way...just a target, nothing for sure on that date they give you, ever. Sooo, don't know what's going on, but if you want some more, go for it...I'd say there's a good chance you can get them still, for the time being at least.

Boy! Is my face ever , didn't think they would sell out this soon. Here is what the Mint Web site had to say about the 20th. Anniversary 3 coin Silver Coin Set: Orders have been taken that meet the maximum mintage level of 250,000 for the American Eagle 20th Anniversary Silver Coin Set. We will continue to accept orders in the event cancellations occur. Orders accepted after sell-out are considered "next in line," and will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis against any remaining inventory that may become available. The United States Mint CANNOT provide information on specific customer placement status either online or by telephone. If paying by credit card, please be sure the expiration date is not before December 31, 2006. If we are not able to fulfill your order, you will be notified that your order was cancelled. If you paid by check, you will receive a refund. As with all of our products, the United States Mint reserves the right to accept or reject orders in any combination or options it determines to be in its best interest.

This is very strange!! I ordered 5 sets earlier today with no problem. I just went in to check this out and I can still order them. I don't see anything about what OldDan said. Was it after you paid for them? I didn't go that far since I have enough for now. When do you see the sold out info? My site doesn't show this at all. It's just backordered.

I must say, the 20th anniversary eagles was a tremedous success for the mint. And that's all of them, I am surprise the 2 coin set sold out since you can get both coins in the other sets. I think the big thing was the TPG companies policy for certifying as 20th anniversary and ebay...

And maybe you don't have to be a smartass about it either. Just point this fact out would have been fine. I can read fine, I just didn't know where it was. And, if your weren't being a smartass about it, then I apologize for my remark. But that's the way it comes across to me.

Well folks, turnabout is fair play. Go back to the September thread titled: "How many people will cancel their order from the Mint?" Wow many folks are singing a different story now!! One person cancelled all but 2 of the ordered items to now having professed that the person has in fact now ordered 20 sets, in what I guess to be normal operating manner for many of us who want to get as much as we can with an eye to the future. I ordered and received 10 sets and have sent 8 sets back for replacement due to an anomaly on the Proof coins. The 9th set had the least visible anomaly and the tenth definitly has something very visible on the coin which does not belong there, so kept both of these sets. I only hope that my 8 sets are replaced sooner rather than later as they have been paid for and received. I hope to get some sort of priority in replacement, but doubt it. I truly hope that every forum member is able to get at least one set for their collection. Good Luck,
Berry
