Found this Luxembourg 1 Franc 1964 coin today.. Can't figure out what kind of doubling this is.. Think it's not "md".. So I'm looking for some input on this one..
Thanks in advance..

edit: Have 2nd thoughts, maybe it is just strong "md"

It does look like a good example of strong MD to me.

The doubling on the date area appears to be cut in from striking damage (MD), and not double-hubbed.
Constrast this with my favorite doubled date I own--from a doubled die, not repunching like the normal for the 19th C.

Pretty strange MD, if it is - so many directions.

What I mean by that, is if it's not MD, then I would say Die Deterioration - certainly not a doubled die or a highly desirable type of doubling.

Something to consider about MD: it doesn't haven't to be linear only; there can be a twist involved too.

It's Machine Doubling. Machine Doubling can show several different directions on the same face.
