Well now the fun begins with the sellout of the Silver American Eagle 20th Anniversery Set.
I have 5 in hand and 5 on order.
I decided to speculate today and bought 3 reverse proofs Graded PF69 by NGC at 170, 160 and 160. One for me, one for my 10 year old daughter, and one for my unborn son.
Shoulda bought 5 more sets last week and have them sent to a different address, but I DIDN'T.
So I decided to "play the market" with these three coins. Stocks can go to zero, trust me I know, but I think these coin may be a GREAT investment. We will see.
You now all know my buy price so we can see how well I did in the future.
Good Luck Edited by Errorcoins 11/14/2006 1:08 pm

Bryan, sounds like your speculating as well, good luck.
I just can't see the price for the graded PF 69 Reverse proof going for much less that 163. I thinks it's up from here.

Just got my first shipment. Beautiful coins. I think they will continue to go up for a while before leveling off.

My daughter ordered two sets some time ago, but has lost her confirmation number. I hope that doesn't prevent her from getting the coins.
My oldest son decided to order 10 sets, however he did it only yesterday, so I would guess he probably won't receive them. However, there's always a chance!
My wife and I own two sets, and wish we could have afforded more.

Just a caution...don't count your chickens before they are hatched!
I just had to say it, as I hope eveyone comes out on top, and not sorry they got involved.

Counting Chickens implies that I plan on making a profit, which WILL happen. I bought these MS69's, one for me and the others for my children, so I will not be selling these, so the only chickens I'm counting are the coins themselves. I do also have 10 sets at issue price, all of are for sure profit makers. I accidently got another NCG MS69 RP for $142, becuase I low ball bid this item and it was listed in the wrong catagory so I won it at a great price. My cost average on the 4 has now gone even lower. An ebay seller had 65 of these yesterday and now only has 18 left, which won't last long.

The ones I bid on were Black Label, but what does it matter? This coin only comes from one place.

Errorcoins, you are correct that they only come from one place, but let me ask you a question, which of the slabbed reverse proofs will be more valuable? Hopefully this will answer your question. Even as you stated in your prior post, you were speculating, so which one would you rather have for future value with your speculation? Berry

That makes no sense whatsoever They have to certify the reverse proofs as part of the 20th anniv set as that is the only possible way to obtain them. Shipping unopened boxes only applies to getting 20th anniv set certification for the regular proof and MS W ASE. Those two are available through other means. Edit: NGC is certifying ALL reverse proof coins with the 20th anniv label. Berry, either you looked at the pic wrong or the seller has manipulated the pic with Photoshop or something. "As of this release, all 2006 reverse proof coins will be eligible for this pedigree and label regardless of mint packaging, as these are only sold in Twentieth Anniversary sets. Uncirculated and proof coins with W mintmark will not qualify for the designation if not submitted in sealed packaging." http://www.ngccoin.com/news/viewart...DArticle=405

Biokemist6, I may be losing something as we go along here due to old age, but please check out these ebay numbers: 220049358897 and 230052032877 and let me know what you think... Berry

220049358897 has "NGC Black Label" in the auction header and it is also pictured on the slab. 230052032877 is just an NGC Photo Proof (pics that NGC takes while certifying) and has nothing to do with the slab. It has "20th Anniversary Black Label" listed on the auction header as well.

biokemist6, if such is the case, I will stand corrected and thanks for double checking that. I saw the "20th Ann Black Label" on the header, but trusted my eyes over their description. Thanks again biokemist6. Berry
