I am a big fan of Morgans so I believe that any CC Morgan is worth buying. The 82,83 and 84 are the highest mintage CC's but not a bad coin to own, and if they are Proofs, thats all the better.

1885 cc are very low mintage. That is the coin that I will stock up on, but I will get an 1889 cc in XF-AU before I'm through grabbing up some cc's. There are a lot of 82-83-84 so they probably won't pop like I think the 85's will.

If you are interested in Carson City Morgans, what are your goals? Collect the complete set, one date, or just some very nice CC dollars? GSA dollars in an option. There are (10) coins that can be aquired there. The '79' will set you back some $$$$. Just giving you some of my thoughts. Good luck!

ANY CC is worth buying IMO. And a PL or bettr? For sure.

If your going to own them for price potential, the 85 & 81 are better choices. If you just want to own as many as you can, the 82, 83 & 84 are the most common date years and least expensive.

CC morgans are my favorite Morgan dollars. I agree with the other poster about pl/dmpl morgans. they are all nice regardless of date or MM.

All else being equal (which it never is!) I'd select the 1882-CC over the 1883 and 1884 because you don't see that date quite as often.
P-L and DMPL CC Morgans are very desirable but there is a lot of variation in eye appeal. The best coins have deep mirrors and frosty white portrait and devices, with minimal field marks. The mirror surfaces make field marks more obvious and distracting. I recommend you view as many examples as possible (go to a major show if possible) and cherry-pick the nicest one within your price range. If you score a premium-quality example it will likely fetch a premium price if/when you want to sell. Good luck, and please post any coins you end up buying!
