Just got my 1st order from Provident today. Got a tube of 20 ASEs and they are gorgeous. Just like the 1st tube I got from APMEX. lol

This brings my mini-hoard up to 94 oz. and counting. Wife is being pretty understanding about it all. She rolls her eyes at me now and then but doesn't say much. Could be she is thinking that I could have a worse problem... and it isn't as if I am spending money. It's more like I am converting one form of money into another form.

Here's a pic of the latest addition:

Shopping-Experience-And...-New-Addition--:-

As to Provident... Their web site is decent, their service is good, their sales emails arrive garbled (although no other company seems to have this problem), and their delivery could be a bit faster. Ordered on 6/27, check received 6/30, package delivered 7/11. Yes, I know... there was a holiday in there and some weekends too but, man... when one is in the throes of a silver fit, one NEEDS it ASAP!

Alright, well done on the Provident order! Looks like another nice batch of ms-69 (maybe a 70 or two) rounds there. And 94 oz. eh a clean cut 24 more oz. than myself, he he he, lol. And considering we got into silver hoarding around the same time we would have around the same amount, if I hadn't decided to get into gold as well. I would say we have been buying on pretty much the same rate of speed, as 26 grams of gold translates to about the same amount as 24 oz. of silver, a bit more for the gold, premiums small coins and all....

I think that is an interesting buying scale to 94 heading towards a 100 oz. (or 70, and an oz of gold), and a format for future years, via how much silver one would loose to get some gold, or palladium, or vice versa, or whatever metal is next on the list so to speak. Plus you are in position to buy in bulk, where I have to go one piece at a time, but in the end the means matters not, it is the final numbers is all that matters....

And we got another half year to go, and as we all know when summer passes, and the gov drops their "new plan", we will see the PM's take off again....

Indeed so, Jango. Like a piece of fine art, it is food for the soul to possess and look at such nice coins. I have other silver coins too but the ASEs will always be my favorites. Their design is timeless and at 1-oz. they are a solid chunk of silver that puts all of the circulated cupro-nickel coins to complete shame... as well they should!

Thanks, Hawk. This was a test to see how they would do. As far as I can see, they did OK. I still like APMEX but Provident is often a little cheaper, especially with $7-8 less for shipping.

Yep, there is that. OTOH, your gold coins and bars are pretty sweet too. I would not mind having some gold. I will one of these days but for now I'm concentrating on building up my 1000 oz. silver hoard. Would like to get some silver bars next. The 10-oz. bars look good to me, especially the ones that are wrapped in plastic to protect them from air and grubby hands.

Yes, I can because of the saving, planning, and investing that I have done in the past. This order is not really buying in bulk yet. For that, I will be looking for about 50 of those nice 10-oz. silver bars. Now, THAT will be some bulk! At least for me.

I love the idea of owning silver and gold too. I can hardly believe that I am coming to this party so late in the day. Better late than never, though, right?

It is so nice to own something that has REAL value and that can't be made cheaper by government incompetence. When you have an oz. of silver or gold, you have REAL money; not just the promise of payment but payment itself. Neither Uncle Ben nor Mr. Geithner can make our silver or gold worth less by printing a lot more of them. That alone should make them FAR more desirable than any paper currency of supposedly equal value.

Indeed we do. Need we say how we think that financial wizardry will end? Something tells me that it will be Lions 1 and Christians 0... and we be the Lions! Rawr!

Thanks, guys. ASEs are indeed gorgeous coins... and my very favorites at that.

Today was good too. My wife had said that she would buy me a nice coin for my Father's Day gift. We've both been busy but finally worked out the time to go to the local coin shop. He had a couple of 1921 Morgans that looked good to me. They aren't anything special but they are a nice design, should grade out as fine condition, and contain about 3/4 oz. of pure silver each. We even got a discount on them... $26 each, which seems a pretty good deal to me.

Way to go Ed B. Your timing on pumping up your silver holdings was impeccable. Gold is going to $1600 and silver to $40 tomorrow. It's my birthday so they have to go way up. I may have to take a little drive to the old coin shop!

Thanks, Junior. Yeah, it worked out pretty well. I got the ASEs for about $38.35 each, delivered. Am now wishing that I had ordered more!

Thanks, ThatStuff. I really like silver and the ASEs seem to be its finest form. The design is terrific... and timeless. There is no doubt in my mind that these coins will be just as lovely and probably MUCH more valuable in a few years.
