Agree with northwestseeker - do you bring them chocolates, or lobsters maybe?

That's pretty darn cool! I wish my tellers would keep stuff like that for me. Congrats!

This group of tellers are great. Helps that I knew some before they started working there. Funny thing is that at this branch, one teller takes all the silver coins so I rarely find any but they save any large head notes for me. The other branch is a teller that takes all the older notes but none that takes silver. So one branch I get my notes/rolls of cents and the other I get my nickels/dimes/quarters/halves rolls.

Been a funny year so far for getting circulation finds for both notes and coins. Seems like I go a long time without finding anything then all of a sudden I hit the jackpot.
This one must of been from a collection. Probably went to the Littleton Coin Company and said that they would pay only face value.
Also, first silver certs that I have found with U, V, and X so that is an added bonus for me.

The one dollar notes are silver certificates, but what is so special about the 20's?

They are just old. 1950, 1950a, 1950B.
Anything older then me I keep.

Nice find..however do not keep too many of the same series. Use the money to pick up chcu notes when they go cheap. IF they were pre 50's then yes, else they have to have something else going on for it. my 2 cents....

Why does this happen to everyone else? I have been a collector since 1963, those were not in circulation then. Congrats.

Quote: Why does this happen to everyone else? I know you are referring to the nice score in finding these, but let's not forget the poor unfortunate soul that lost them either to theft or by the kids who got into Dad's sock drawer where he has kept those for years.

The biggest problem for around where I live is that the only place nearby for shops is the Littleton Coin Company. The person probably contacted them and they said that they were only worth face value so the person just deposited them.
That is how I found my Henning Nickel. A person sold a bunch of coins from a father that passed away to the LCC and they would not take the $250 worth of rolled change (even at face). So they were headed to the bank to deposit them when they stopped by my work and told them how disappointed they were with how much they got from the LCC and we started talking. I then bought the change at face.
