*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Hi. I'm new to collecting so please be patient. I'm going to try to post a photo of a 1929 Lincoln Cent that appears to be a DDO, particularly around the numerals of the date, and perhaps also Lincoln's bow tie. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

to CCF. I am no pro and the photo needs a close up but it looks like Machine Doubling to me. Nice clear pics though, what are you using to take the photo? John1

Appreciate your thoughts, John. I bought this coin via ebay several months ago, and I saved and copied the photo that the seller posted! I'm considering buying one of those digital microscopes that connect to a computer to view/print detailed coin pictures myself, but I haven't made that commitment yet!

No mention of a 29 double die in the book Looking Thruough Lincoln Cents but you may want to try the author of that book. Try https://www.coppercoins.com

The person that has that web site is Charles D. Daughtrey and is usually around here. He has two books out on Cents called Looking Through Lincoln Cents. Not sure but I think you could buy one from that web site of his. Supposed to have a few other web sites where he sells coins too. Odd that he hasn't been popping up here lately.

to the Community! I moved your post to the Modern US Variety & Error Coins forum for better visibility to those that have a stronger interest in varieties.

This coin shows a combination of die wear and Machine Doubling. It is not a doubled die.
