it might be a good idea to pick up a Red Book, these have all the info on most if not all US coinage!

Yes but most only sell as 90%. There are some better/key dates like 1916-D.

They are really just Lead and the government told people they are Silver so they would think they are really worth a lot. Possibly Nickel mixed in to make them harder too. Now if that was really true, we could call them NickLeads.  I wonder why they used that %. Why not 95% or 87% or something else?
