There are toned coins that have higher grading, back in the day,, but I would wonder if they would allow higher grades do to there "LUSTER" factor they seem to require for a 140 year old coin,, which is rediculous most have been cleaned in some way to keep there luster, its only been some 30-40 years for holders which sill lessen there toning...Nice coin too...MS63 appears fair with the finger prints..this kind of toning makes it really hard to see many things that you must see. like hair lines or minor abrasions which will define MS grades, and in todays standards it takes a low MS65 to get a MS64+ grade..they have tightened up quite a bit..Thanks for posting...

It's indeed a nice coin, however, like Aladinslamp stated, its hard to examine any mint state determinants due to the toning of the coin. I would agree with the holder though, it does look like an MS-63, but not necessarily a choice example, thus it would be hard to sell at the current FMV of about $180. Therefore, I would agree with Adam on a value of around $160. Great coin!
