Your odds are pretty much slim to none. Silver Eagles and their gold counterparts are not distributed by banks. The only chance you have at finding silver at your local bank is by searching through rolls. Many people do this and seem to enjoy it. I do not search through rolls. There are many topics here about roll searching. If you want to buy silver and gold eagles you will have to go through bullion dealers or ebay. You can find them in some other places as well, but not in the bank. Welcome aboard! Ask any questions you have on this site. I am not too computer savvy but am sure others will post links for you.

I would have to say about 1 in 10,000. You are better off saving the gas money you would sepnd going to the banks and just buy them. You'll also save a lot of time that could be used mowing the lawn. :)

Highly improbable. Way to many people today know of the Silver prices so as many as possible are Silver Hunting.

My bank sells ASE and some CU's sell them too. Price is a little high though. If you mean finding them in rolls your chance is slim to none. John1

The banks don't receive any because they are not produced for circulation. They are a bullion item. John, I have never seen any for sale at any of the banks or credit unions here in Northeast PA. That is a nice perk or option that you have there. Sometimes convenience makes paying a little extra well worth it. It also adds the option for them as being an impulse buy. I could see myself saying "give me 2 Eagles instead of throwing that $? into my savings acct."

Sometimes the banks around me sell them, but that is because they are supplied by Silvertowne which is just down the road. The banks sell them (at an inflated level) and get a share of the profits.
