I do not know anything about National Numismatic Certification or if this is a home slabbed coin. But how they call this coin Danish. I do not understand. There is no 10 ore Denmark 1890 and this is obviously Sweden 10 ore. http://cgi.ebay.com/DENMARK-1890-Y-...em588ee4a8f3

They are a basement slab done by that seller. I know nothing about that particular coin-but I am Swedish! I would also guess it it overgraded by at least 2 grades. You would at least think the seller would get the country right. I would stay far, far away.

LOL, that ebay seller centsles is NNC. It is not a legit Third Party Grader, just some sweaty dude in his mom's basement slapping his own inventory into clamshell holders.

I just looked at the NNC homepage and I see that they don't grade foreign coins. Perhaps someone should tell the seller. Just noticed that they DID earlier. My bad.

But they have been "Numismatic experts for over 25 years." You only have 54 posts. How can I trust you? :-)
I was going to look up the number online but they don't seem to have it available. Also, it seems that they lost two months worth of data due to computer problems. Maybe it was graded during that time...

As usual though there were 8 bids and it went for $9.50. A $3 charge for postage and handling too. And there was a 7 day return policy and of course buyer pays return postage. Quote: But how they call this coin Danish. Why not? 8 people must have wanted that coin for some reason. NNC? Never heard of them either.

Quote: Why not? 8 people must have wanted that coin for some reason. Well someone got a Swedish 10 ore 1890 with a catalogue value at about 42$ for about 13$ so it was an OK deal

This is the guy in Florida who does his own slabbing. His reputation is so bad that many coins sell better out of the holders. ebay won't let him post a numerical grade in the description. I think there was a lawsuit a few years ago.

NNC over grades coins. Buyer beware Not creditable to the top tier graders and therefore value is compromised.

The amazing thing is that he is actually a very accomplished grader. Years ago when PCGS did their "World Series of Grading" competition Centsles was the winner in the Dealers and former graders category. (And with a higher score than anyone in the Collectors category.) He matched the PCGS grades 80% of the time. The best any of the former graders did was 70 to 75%. So he can grade to PCGS standards, but NNC doesn't and grades to their own standards.
