I have thought about adding a few clipped coins to my collection of errors though I am skiddish about a coin that looks like anyone that has big machine presses and is a machinist could snip off a curved clip. I have found alot of very minor snips or clips off the new quarters though not significant.Suppose I would think they would have to be found at the mint or a counting house as to being found in rolls from the bank or rolls or bags from the mint.

HOW DOES ONE TELL IF IT IS A LEGITIMATE CLIP FROM THE MINT?

best thing I can provide other than the link to Sean's site is to say that the devices near a clip will be weak - always. The rim near a clip will converge softly into the clip - always. Faked clips will usually never have these characteristics.
