I wondered after looking at my SF Mint Commemorative with the Morgan reverse and my Buffalo as well, are they ever going to bring back more classic coin designs for commemoratives? I think it would go over well if they brought back the Capped bust, Barber or Peace as silver dollar commemoratives. The more recent designs lack real style, like they rushed a design through without spending any devotion to the art.

I would like to see classic designs also. But like most things nowadays, it seems aesthetics are sacrificed. Look at cars from the 50's; antique furniture styles, etc. etc.

The new Palladium coins are going to have the obverse of the Mercury dime. That's a start!

They should put a new version of a bust of Liberty on the dime and change the obverse to something patriotic and not "commemorating the Gold Rush of 1849" or something like that.

Well I do hope they consider using them more often in the future. I'd also love for them to make some changes to the other coins, we have had Washington since 1932, Jefferson for almost as long and Lincoln for over 100 years. I'd like to see some new designs not just rehashes of the old. ok I'll get off my soap box now :)
