Hello all,
Apologies for my complete lack of numismatic ability.
I tried to do as much research online as possible, but I haven't been successful.
It looks too nice to be genuine, methinks.

Thanks in advance.

This is a copy of a coin of the emperor Vespasian depicting the capture of Judaea. This one isn't real.

Yes - it's quite a poor fake really so I'd say it's wasn't nice enough to be real :)

A little extra info for next time...
If you'll look at the blank areas, you'll notice that it looks kind of "bubbly" or rough - this is a clear sign that a modern die cast was used.
Also, check out the edge of the coin. Notice the sharp angle - this just doesn't happen with 2000 year old coins.
Finally, the detailed areas like the eye and ear sockets are filled in, while the rest of the coin does not appear worn. Coins do not wear from the inside out, so...
I hope this helps!

I have an identical copy. You should find the word "copy" stamped into the edge of the piece.

This is one of a series:
'Coins of the Bible' (82).......whatever 82 means!

It appears to cast in white metal (probably solder) and copper plasted. It has a rather pleasing weighty tactile efect to it.

Useful resource for Sunday School teachers.
