This is a strange one, supposedly KM# 505. Brasil 400 Reis MCMI (1901) 30mm 11.73gr Cu-Ni.

Brasil-400-Reis-Copy?

This piece however is brand new, weighs 12.2gr and bizarrely enough passes the tissue test when placed next to a known silver coin.

This piece only fetches $30.00 in UNC, so it's an unlikely target for counterfeiters. Any ideas what I've got here?

Something odd here,
mine weighs 12.02gr, the weight in Krause I think is for the 1932 Commemorative issue.

It's not uncommon in that condition. After looking at hundreds of these it seems to be legit.
