My 1916 Morgan seems to be a Mercury dime but it is large and does not say ONE DIME . Here are the pics. Any ideas?

How large is this coin ?

From the pics I cannot tell with nothing to compare it to.

But more than likely what you have is over sized novelty/Replica of the 1916-D Key date Merc.

Hi Stoxy and thanks for the pics. I can't tell the size from the images, but it appears to be a plated medallion made to look almost like a Mercury dime except for its larger size as you describe and no "ONE DIME". It might be classified as jewelry rather than a coin, but for items such as this, there is some overlap of collector interest. I would not want to give a statement regarding its value. I have never seen a medallion like this, but somewhere someplace online, there has to be information on it. All we gotta do is find the right keywords for Google.

It can be easily stated that this type of novelty has no numismatic value,, and depending upon if the hole was made into it or added to it? it may have a slight value as a novelty if the hole was made into it.If the hole was added then the value slips to that if a curiosity.

I will say its a novel;ty peice also because if it isn't the reverse is rotated 180 degrees, and if it was made for jewelery that would make sence because they would want it to be right side up no matter how the coin flipped while wearing it on a chain. I am going by the placement of the hole, it is abobe liberty's head and it is also above the column right side up so either rotated die or made for jewelry and I tend to beleive the later
