would this be a D/D. I have had trouble identifying these in the past, but hopefully got it right this time. Looks like splits in the top and bottom of the "D". also, any idea of what is to the left of the "D" and below the "9"?

An rpm, definitely a D/D. Underneath the 9 looks like a die gouge. Let's wait for the others to say their opinions.

A larger image with the full date and mint mark area would help to identify the location of the mint mark. The close up is a great aid as well. So a second image would help.

It appears to be this one:

There isn't a full image of date and mint mark on the site and I don't have an example to take an image of to do an overlay. Please check to see if any markers match with your coin. It apprears it is a later die state example with the break under the 9 in the date.
