I am thinking about joining, it is 39 per year for a membership and you get 10 issues of the RCNS journal...as well as other benefits. Does anyone here belong? Is it worthwhile? Thanks

I'm a member. I believe it is worth it. You can access journal articles online back to the beginning of the CNA in the early 1950's if you're a member. You can get discounted insurance. You can submit articles for publication,(which I do). Or you can spend 10 minutes or less at a casino for equal cost,(which I do). There's thousands of things to do with your money, but this ranks up there if you collect Canadian coins.

I'm also sitting on the fence about whether to join the R.C.N.A. or not? Don't you need a referral from an R.C.N.A. Member when submitting your application form? Glenn

I am also a member of the RCNA & contributor to the Journal. It's nice to read publications with Canadian numismatic content.

I also contribute to the Journal. It's good to read research articles that only show up in that environment!

You can join online using Paypal.
It takes a couple of months to be accepted into membership, but you get the Journal and access to the electronic library pretty much right away.

I too am thinking about joining. What can you tell me about the two correspondence courses they offer. are they lame or quite worth it. I'm by no means an expert on coins, but I might put myself above average when it comes to the average joe coin collector.

Can anyone offer any insight to the correspondence courses that they offer?
