While seaching half dollar rolls I've noticed that some dates have Sharpe marks on them that are not "obvious" dates to look at. What are collectors looking for in the dates below if anything? I can't find anything in the CherryPickers Guide.

1976
1976-D
1984-D
1995-D

1982, 1983-P mints in bu are a keeper. They didn't issue the mint sets that year from the mint. So they are keepers. The mints offered their mint set, but you had to get them in the mint.

Sorry.... As I search through halves, I'd see a sharpe dot on the 1976-D tower.... I seen hundreds of them. Question is, what error are they looking for... if an error at all. I'd think a quick look is easy to determine a MS coin. Why take the time to mark it?

Yes, I hoard 82/3 already.

they probably just mark all of their coins to see what comes back to them. they probably aren't looking for anything with the bicentennial halves.

On the Bicentenials they could be looking for Grease Filled Dies.

Some consider them a variety/error some don't. Although I have seen them sell on ebay.
