Now at first I thought that this is Mechanical Doubling, but I noticed it right when I picked up the coin, and it looks quite raised. This is a 1972 D Kennedy. Any opinions? Either way it is a pretty cool thing to look at IMHO. By the way, all of the 'doubling' is on the reverse. My microscope has too much glare to let me see if there are any split serifs on the obv.

Hey madhandles,

I'm putting all me eggs in the Mechanical Doubling basket on this one. The doubling is too flat looking for me. I don't see any split serifs either. Sorry. But keep looking, they are definitely out there, just waiting to be found.

Machine doubling. The doubling is flat and does not show any notching at the corners.
