I was investigating some of my mint marked Lincolns and noticed something peculiar on my 1915-D.

Could it be the (what I assume is) rare 1915D-1MM-001?

It's a PCGS MS64RD, which makes this even more significant.

The lower serif looks like it took a hit.

It's possible, I don't have the greatest setup to be able to discern that. I also looked to see how it overlays the Coppercoins example:

It looks like the shoe fits.

Yup, that's it for sure, and could be the highest graded example of such.

Woo-hoo! Dancing fruit time!

It also appears to me to be an EDS, the devices are fairly strong and the letters are well-defined, plus the MDS marker of the die scratch on the reverse seems to be absent.

While it's a notable RPM, I'm not sure if PCGS or NGC slab this one, especially since it's not in the Cherrypicker's guide. Maybe ANACS would, though, but I'm not going to rush do anything like that.

Very Good. I like stories of people finding rare varieties.

Actually, I am mistaken, it IS in the CherryPickers' Guide as FS-501. But both that and CONECA say it's actually a D/D/D instead of a D/D.
