I don't have a pic, but I sit at the table with a towel or mat or something soft to lay the coins on. I set up a reading light and have a lupe at the ready. Depending on what you are looking at and/or for you may or may not need magnification but it is always good to have. I also keep my books nearby in case I have questions. I also have a notebook where I list some info such as DDO, repunched mintmarks, etc so I can have a quick reference. I switch around the denominations to keep it exciting and I sometimes forget what to look for. Most important is to have a good time.

I do mine at my desk. I use a normal desk lamp and have a couple of different power loops. I have reference books at the ready and my computer is on the desk as well, so I have all the info I need at my fingertips.

Is hard for roll searcher use a light magnifying because as fast and as much is what give you better results ! I have light magnifying but is all ready on the storage because didnt like the results plus hurts my eyes and head . I use just my eagle eyes and always have my jeweler magnifying next to me so during my search anything suspicious in a coin I just. Heck with my magnifying under the light ! You also need a jeweller scale for planchet errors or missing layers also wrong matterial or to identify a fake coins ! It is it ! Dont think you are not finding any because of the equipment you are using , error coins are very rare to come by and the best tool is knowledge what you gain with experience and practice . Thats my opinion ! Jeweler magnifying a good table light and a Red Book !

I usually sit on the floor wearing a pair of old bi-focals, watching "Bonanza" and drinking a "dirty-b*stard".
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72

It is pronounced ( loop ) and spelled loupe. Many coin dealers use a Hasting Triplet Bausch & Lomb loupe or magnifier. They use this because it has a special type of lens ( Hasting ), that does not distort the viewed object. I have a 7x magnifier and just viewed one on Amazon a 10x for $35.95. Hope this helps. I know there is a thread on these loupe's in CCF.
