I also picked up 20 1921 Walking 1/2 dollars. Are these in good enough shape to save? As you can tell I'm just a bullion guy.

The book value on them is melt. I would keep them, but if you need to sell something, they would be among the first to go.

Those are worth way more than melt. Please sell them here.
$75-$125 anyway.

I agree any 1921 walker half is worth far more than melt, are there any mint marks?

Ok now I am confused I guess this is where is pays to know something more than the price of silver. I did a fast check and it looks like I have a few keys dates which include the 1921 and the 1916.

The 1921's have no mint mark. The 1916 some with no mint mark and some with a D.

Maybe I will just post a photo of them all and you all can figure this out.

I didn't think they where worth that much if they were circulated?

You bought these as bullion? This is a key date. If so, you made out very well, but the other guy really got taken. They would all be worth way more than melt, some dramatically so depending on the condition. You need to post front and back of each one of these one at a time for a more thorough analysis, also to see if they have mintmarks.

The 21 D is the key, or one of them, coins to the series. As the previous posters said the 21 P is also worth way more than melt. You really need to look on the reverse for mintmarks. The D is the best but the S is also a winner. Getting these coins anywhere near melt is a fantastic deal. You could turn a handsome profit if you sell them here.

Genuine rarity transcends wear. Look at mintage figures for 1916 and 1921, and you'll understand why they're worth so much. There are probably more people (literally) collecting Walkers than there are 1921's left to sell to them.

Yes I have no clue what I have they were all going into the junk coin hoard. I was in the right place at the right time and bought a ton of older junk at spot. They are just silver to me.

Here is the 1916, I will take a few and post in the grading forum tonight if I get time.

The 16 you pictured is worth much more than spot as well. I hope you list a couple of the 16 and 21 dates here. I have been trying to put together a few sets in circulated condition and can always use some more.

You made out huge! The 1921 is a key date. I just picked up a PCGS G6 for just over $150 if that tells you anything. You should pick up a Red Book just for general value and rarity guide for future reference.

Wow, well congrats my friend! To put it in perspective. That find is pretty much equivalent to buying multiple rolls of silver quarters at face value!

Ok I had to learn where all the mint marks are so now I have found them.

1916 - no mint mark
1916 - no mint mark
1916 - D mint on the front
1916 - D mint on the front
1916 - looks like a S mint on the front
1921 - no mint mark
1921 - S mint on the back

I have others but I really don't know all the keys dates , I will have to do some more reading.

Are any of the above any good?

All the dates that you have listed are good and worth much more than spot. The best dates from that list are the 1916-S and the 1921. Congrats on the find!
