1971 D Kennedy Half - Detatched Nose (Over-Polished Dye?)

I was looking at some of my halves and noticed that on this one, the nose appears to be detached.
Here are two photos showing the obverse and the seemingly normal reverse of the coin.

I don't know too much about error coins, as I was just looking for silver. Is this just wear, or a legitimate error?

Over die polishing is an alteration of a normal die. Some may collect over polishing, but they are fairly common to find. It happens after die clashes are removed.

Okay, I responded to this and my response disappeared.

This is an overpolished die. They are rather common and are not considered collectible errors.

BTW, to clarify for you..."dye" is a color pigment used to change the color of cloth. "Die" (one definition of many) is a tool used to create coins.
