I've been going through my grandfather's coin collection and I came across a bag labelled Mixed Coins. The majority of the coins I could identify but two of these stumped me mainly because of how worn/damaged they are. The last one stumped me because of the uncommon characters on it which made it difficult to search for. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry that the pics don't show much detail.

Above the 40 in the center of the coin appears to be either a flower or 4-leaf clover and surrounding the 40 are smaller clovers/flowers.

The letters I can make out above the head appear to be GIVS and the date on the back appears to be 1723.

The last one is a 50 lepta from Greece KM#88. The first one might be from Brazil? not really sure though. The second one looks like it's from Great Britain.

@mmorgan22 thanks for the help, based on your guess for the second coin I was able to find out what I think it is; a George I Halfpenny. http://www.predecimal.com/images/mi...fpenobv.jpeg

Also the tip you gave on the first one seems to be correct. It appears to be a 40 Reis, thanks

The top one is indeed Brazil, a counterstamped 40 reis. The original undertype coin would date from the 1820s or early 1830s, the counterstamp was applied in 1835 if I recall correctly.

See this example on WCG for a similar coin in better grade.

Spain often has date (as opposed to series) in little stars. Dunno if that applies here.
