Well off work today due to winter storm here in OK. So thought I would do some checking on my coins...going to download a few pics, view at your leisure, would really like to know if this nickel would be considered doubling, or just a mistrike problem.

I see the moved metal which is quite common on the Jefferson nickel I think the composition Has a lot to do with it . Its A worn or filled die Maybe . Or the Compression or force of the strike was not good . I do Know they are common , But MetalMan , Swamperbob and Others would be able to tell you a lot more Than I could Sorry!!

No snow here in SW Mo yet...all ice. Been raining and sleeting all day and evening. Currently rain/sleet and 17 degrees. Our foot of snow forecast yesterday has turned out to be two inches of ice.

Anyhow, your coin is Die Deterioration Doubling - very common on nickels.
