I have no idea what this is. This coin is very thin. The pictures are not wrong, it has about a 90 degree rotation. I flipped it like I would a penny (coin alignment). Any guess as to what it is? Maybe a replica of some sort?

No, it's a coin, from Cantonal Switzerland: Bishopric of Sitten, in Valais canton. The denomination is 1/2 batzen. The two "2"s on either side of the shield are the date: 1722. This webpage depicts a similar coin from 1709 and lists the dates available, with values.

Thanks Sap for the info and the link! R2 for scarcity. Not really worth a lot, but a cool coin and one to add to the 1700's collection.

The crest did look like Valais, although it's missing a few stars.
I've never seen an eagle atop a Kantonal crest; perhaps due to the Hapsburg influence? Eagles are absent in modern times,
