Found this guy in a roll last week, and just got around to taking photos... it seems just like there is TOO much luster! It doesn't look to have been cleaned, yet lincoln is missing some of the detail in his jacket, and his hair really isn't as sharp as normal, but all of the devices are super sharp Mint state... Weak Strike? Maybe a little too much grease in the die?

What do you think?

Dipped maybe. Doesn't looked scrubbed. I asked staff to move this to the error forum. Get some pros on it.

Usually coppercoins jumps in on those.
Not sure but does appear to be a poor or weak strike.
One funny thing is if you look at the reverse, on the left side of the stairs it appears to be a man running down the stairs. Looks like he has one foot down and has right arm in the air.

this looks like one of my 60's Mint state roll finds, nice luster, but mushy devices.

for a grade (not that you asked) I would assume its about a 61 or 2, the strike is very weak, and there are a lot of scratches, to to mention the fingerprint on the obverse.

While this is probably not a variety or error, I moved this post to the Modern US V&E forum to make it more visible to all of our cent experts.

It's roughly MS63RD.

This is a very typical 1968 cent. All the working hubs, thus all the working dies were made with a very worn out master die that year. It was noticeable enough that they replaced the entire obverse design in 1969 with something that looks a lot less like a marshmallow man and a lot more like Lincoln as Brenner designed it.
