A very nice group! However, I think you really scored on a wife who puts objectivity first.

My wife is a "scrapbooking junkie" ... which is okay I guess, because she realizes that hobbies are addictive ... but it is far easier to go overboard at a coin auction than it is to go overboard at the craftstore, so I tread very lightly when I tell her how much I spend on some of my pretty shiny coins!
NOTE => I love her madly and she is very cool (I'm a lucky dude), so I built her a "craft-room", which is the total envy of her friends (they all think that I'm so deep and loving ... which I am, kinda) ...
=> it certainly keeps her happy when I'm surfing and spending madly at those addictive on-line auctions!

I was at another coin auction today and my wife (who is TDY to San Antonio TX) was scouring the antique malls for coins to keep her busy on her Saturday off. She text me and said these "old men" said they would pay $33 for Morgan dollars who run an antique mall. I said that was too bad of an offer compared to many other places. She then replied with this text: "I think I want to learn more about coins so I can flirt with the old men so they give me good deals." I started laughing in the middle of the auction and the auctioneer almost took it as a bid. :)

You, sir, hit a long home run with your choice of mate. Is she military? The TDY reference made me think so.

Great haul! and as the others have stated a great wife. I have to say the same about mine she is understanding and if we HAD $5k extra she'd let me spend it. I do NOT take advantage....not if I want to keep my hobby!

When I go to coin auctions with my wife I get cut off at... like $120. And consider myself lucky!

HAHA I don't plan on keeping all the gold. I will have to resell most to continue my hobby.

Gee, Upstate you are really lucky. When I go with my wife, I'm only allowed to bid 'face value'!

But she never put any limit on how much you should INVEST! Did she now?
