This is a cleaned, melt-value coin.

Probably not worth much more than melt.

I agree. I think I would offer him no more than $30. I can get a hand full of valueless Morgans from my local dealer for $34 each. Thank you guys.
Rest in Peace

If he's really a friend, he'll buy you a beer with it.

At the moment, 1558 EDT, spot silver is 41.58 so actual silver value is $32.16 so an offer of $32.00 give or take a dollar or two would be fair.

I told him I'd give him more than what a dealer would give him and less than what I would have to buy one from a dealer for. I think that's fair. Thank you guys for your opinions. But you all agree that it was cleaned? That was my 1st impression too.

Just an update. I offered my friend $30 for the Morgan. He told me that he only wanted $25. I took the deal. =)
