I'm thinking this was struck through a capped die? What do you think? Definitely a 1974 with a mint mark, but I can't tell if it's a D or an S.

Yep, mintmark is questionable from this angle as to whether it is a D or S, but the fact remains that this is a nice example of a struck through die cap coin and those are nice photographs of same.
