Are your $50 & $100 bills the same size? I've read that the U.S. was the only country where all the circulating bills were sized identically, a difficulty for the visually-impaired; maybe we're not the ONLY country...

Attractive banknotes. I want to hold one in my hand to see if they feel differently than the current bills.

I like the portraits but I would have preferred natural scenery to some weird lab scene (although I do understand its significance) or an icebreaker. Maybe we can get Trudeau or Pearson (even Dief the Chief) on a bill and get the queen off the bills

I've heard rumors that there are possible plans to come up with high polymer (plastic) coins. They would be ultra light weight and inexpensive to produce. They could possibly be made in China (contracted out) under strict R.C.M. guidelines/criteria. Now that metal prices are going through the roof, soon we'll probably see our coins made out of cardboard! Glenn

(Modern) Coins are already too light and small and very hard to manipulate. Adding casino chips to the mix is the worst anti-counterfeiting measure I've ever heard of. Plastics can be imitated. I don't see why we don't go back to nickel - it's abundant here.

These new 100's supposedly enter circulation tomorrow. What is the standard operating procedure fo a guy like me who wants one? Call up my bank?

I was checking out the website posted by Libertad and found it very interesting that the 1954 $20 bill the Bank of Canada posted was the famous "Devil's face" variety.

I think the icebreaker on the $50 is a 'subtle' reminder of our sovereignty in the North.
