A site that auctions coins has bids for many items including coins. Just found this listing:

Quote:
~1922 Sitting Eagle Morgan U.S. SILVER Dollar~

EDIT - removed the water marked picture, oops

The only part correct is the date and that it's a U.S. SILVER Dollar.

FYI - a few days ago, same retailer had an Eisenhower dollar listed as a "Liberty Dollar"

Are you sure you want to call the company shown in the watermark on the picture (so it didn't need to be named) a "Retailer"? I don't really think that's what they do.

forgot about the water mark.
The shopgoodwill site sells coins, but they are not a coin dealer. Not sure how you would define them.

Since your next post revealed the name (which my post did not) of the organization, there wasn't any need to remove the picture. You just let the cat out of the bag.

But anyway, Goodwill is....well, Goodwill! What would you call yourself if people just gave you stuff for free and then you sold it and gave the money away to some charity, like....the MDA (timely reference - Labor Day right around the corner!)?

Goodwill is a charitable organization. They sell anything and everything, generously donated (given to them for free) through their site, just as in their stores. That they were slightly ambiguous about the description of the coin should really not be that surprising. Imagine your job...you have to figure out what ALL THIS STUFF is and describe it on the website so people can bid on it and win it and allow you to continue in your charitable efforts. Although us wiz kid collectors giggle when we see this, step out of your box for a moment and imagine you have a cool looking porcelain vase-type thingy you have to list. You dig around a bit trying to identify it, but to no avail. So you list it as "Cool Porcelain Vase-type Thingy". Someone slightly versed in collectible vase-type thingies immediately recognizes this as a chipped and kinda worn Capodimonte worth about $50 in its chipped and kinda worn condition and bids on it and buys it for $35! Capodimontes usually never have such a rough life but, hey, stuff happens.

Where lieth the problem, Horatio? Charity begins at home!
