I put on the scale all 41,43,44,46 and 53 nickels that I find looking for a henning nickel but I dont know how much is the weight of henning !.
Did anybody who owns one ever had it weight ?

I found a 1940 nickel that that weight 4.5g , a nickel is supposed to weight 5g but they average a variation of 4.9 sometimes 4.8 so 4.5 I think could be a error may be .

I never heard any about a 1940 counterfit , any help ll be apreciated ..

I think henning nickels just tend to be off weight more often than real ones. They can be heavy or light.

I just found another topic related to henning and the average seems to be 5.1 to 5.4 so my nickel with 4.5 is more like a defect planchet ! I though the henning would lighter but not heavier , what about that ...

And one more question .. Does it gets corroded ?

I know, at least for the 44's, that if it has a small hole in the leg (i think its the left one) of the are in "Pluribus", that it has a really good chance it being a Henning.

Was hard for me to get a good pic of "R", but in hand you can see the hole/loop in the left leg. The big give away for the 1944 is that it does not have the mint mark above Monticello.

All 1944 nickels are supposed to be silver "war" type with the large MM.
