The more I look at this coin the more I cant figure out why it looks strange, different, like its more than just what you see.the the building look's wavy to me and upper left on the building is dented in just above. and there is a little extra something something or something in a couple places the whole reverse looks weird to me. but I am just a newbie >going on the premise that coop is correct I added a photo of the obverse and cant find any evidence of a die clash on said photo. would it be safe to say they changed out this die and restruck the coin that would explain why the obverse image even though showing wear still stands off the coin much higher than any nickel I have compared it to.

Your coin looks like it has had several die clashes and then several polishing to cover this up. The die is aging and showing die wear as well. The lines under E PLU are die flow which indicates a LDS/VLDS die state. Add in the polishings and that removes more of the field surface leaving a very tired die. Here are a couple die clash overlays to show what they had tried for cover up:

I disagree. It's just die wear. Mike Diamond has the correct term, but it has something to do with transfer of the design through pressure and wear. That's all it is, and it's very common on nickels.

I have been studying this coin in great detail and a worn die cannot explain the small extra pieces of material found 1) first photo dead center 2)photo's 4 and 5 small straight up and down line directly above mm. on the obverse washington's bust stands off the field like no other I have seen, in the photo you can see that it is worn down. when I compare side by side to any other 5 cent it stands at least 20 percent higher. how is this explained someone please enlighten me
