I just picked this up for $30. Did I make a good choice, or is this another coin to chalk up to the "Learning curve". I think it looks pretty nice, but am still not confident in my own grading skills. I do think however that it is above AU. What are the community thoughts.

I wish that the photos weren't so tinted. I would like to have seen some luster or cartwheeling here to go BU.

At 30$ you can't get hurt too badly. I am guessing this is an AU at this juncture.

You know what, I actually tok these pictures outsude on the deck last night with darkness falling to see if it made a difference in direct(and low) lighting. I will post more tonight after taking pics inside with somewhat proper lighting. The coin actually looks very nice and shiny(dare I say it "frosty") in hand.

The details look AU or even MS but can't really tell with the smurf color. If you would have took those pics on my deck, they definatly would be frosty.12* here. If the luster is good with those details,I think it could be in the MS range but better pics will tell.

I'm not quite comfortable pronouncing it MS based on these pics, although it could well be. The reverse is much more encouraging than the obverse. The chief ingredient that's lacking here is an accurate idea of luster - I can't tell if the brighter areas on the devices are just luster breaks, or actual wear.

If it's AU, it's definitely as close to Mint as it gets.

Here are some inside pics. Still not the best, but better than the last attempt.

Well, with the new pics.I would have to say AU58 but pushing MS60 pretty hard.Just a few to many contact marks on the obverse to be MS I think.Probably a slider AU58/MS60 reverse.
