Yippppee..4 sets coming tommorow...
1 set backordered, may fly, we'll see(5.29 pm order...set of 4 was 4:59!)...anyway, in a quandry...there is nothing keeping a buyer on ebay from replacing his bad coins with my good coins, and opening a case...they would win no matter what I do..sorry, but I was hit by a bullion scammer 2 months ago who knew how to milk the system, and, ebay did nothing to him, even with contacting his 7 other sellers who he had done the exact same thing to, and caused some very ugly endings...besides, between paypal and ebay fees, looks like about a loss of at least 400-500 dollars on a 4k sale...not worth it..I can't sell here, as I don't have 250 posts yet....probably take the box down to the Santa Clara show and work the dealers...then again, sending to NGC is an option...best "problem" I've had in years...anyone have sales figures on E.R PF70 reverse, and MS70 S mint..will go check ebay for those #'s now...

That's what I did for my sealed set of five; original box within another box. I used Styrofoam ends to protect the inner box, and a fairly heavy duty outer box. Overall the box-within-a-box weighed in at just over 18 pounds. 60 something dollars to ship it Registered Priority to the next possessor.

Just as an FYI to anyone selling.... seems that midday to early afternoon is when prices peak each day...then drop off by about 5-10 % each evening. Is odd...but consistant

If you really want to ship the "raw" mint box, probably the best thing to do is wrap it in white or brown paper and use a minimum amount of tape so USPS can have their fun putting their tape on it. That way the mint box is still as it was when it originally shipped. Also, if you are sending to a buyer, make sure that you have proof of what they paid for the set(s) so you can insure for that amount, otherwise the value as far as USPS is concerned will fall back to the mint sale price. When shipping directly to a TPG, insurance probably won't pay any more than you paid for the items so if you have friends that are doing the same, "sell" to each other for current average ebay closing prices and provide invoices so you have a basis for increased insurance if you are concerned about shipping loss. It might be good enough to simply get a provable record of the selling prices at the time of shipment but an invoice in your name is way better.

Hello, new member to the board. My order went through at 4:17 pm with an order number of 38380xxx. I'm hoping to know soon if I will get one. I will be disapointed if I dont, because I was lucky enough to get a 20th annivesary set as well as a 2008 with 2007 reverse from the mint.

Welcome to the forum, Brakeman!

My 5 sets finally arrived today. I was not impressed with how they were packaged. No padding on the sides at all, the contents were in direct contact with the box without padding.

When I opened the first set, I was shocked to find that the 2011-W proof was missing! Turns out it had popped out of the capsule and was loose underneath with the COA.

In all, 3 of the 5 sets had one coin completely popped out of the capsule, free and loose rattling around inside.

Since I have a PO Box, I did not get the luxury of UPS next day service like most. They sent mine via USPS, and USPS had 4 days to beat the stuffin' out of my stuff. And man, did they!

I intend the cherry-pick the absolute best set for myself and sell the rest.

I think we are going to see these sets hit $1,000, opened, when it all said and done (when they mint ships the rest of the sets.) I wouldn't be surprised to see unopened sets fetch $1,200 a piece either

There are a lot of similar decisions that need to be made...no rush yet since you have a few weeks to get them there...

Wait a bit to see what the graded sets will bring once there are enough for sale. Those 69's will be the key to whether to send them in or not...if they hold or surpass the $1300 mark that will be the go-for-it sign...Don't forget...worse case... you can crack out those 67's and 68's that were rattling around the box...make up an opened set and sell it for $900-1000...

I sent mine in...
