ILikeIkes, actually The APMEX offer of $600 is very good info. While not something most would jump at, given that APMEX is an AP with an AP mindset and is willing to take all of the risk of buying unopened boxes, they have just established the rock bottom price for just such a situation. They have also shown that they are willing to react to changing conditions, since their initial offer was $425. If they go up another $175, they might get quite a few takers. Even so, I think I will sit on my five unopened single sets for a while.

My order, 38384xxx, is still in process, backorder status. Would it change to in stock, reserved before the charge posts to my CC?

I managed to acquire a 7th from GL today and can't see a flaw on either coin. I am not a registered grader by any means but the 2 keys look flawless to me. If I send the two coins into NGC will they get the same blue 25th anniversary set labels? What if I just shipped the whole thing in, is it worth it? I have sold my sets from the mint obv to early in the game. I just can't believe how big these sets are, can barely fit in by safe.

I have been thinking about selling all 5 of my sets. But a dealer friend had to have three for a big customer.
He said the customer would pay $800, I did not want to be greedy so I sold him 3 sets for $750. He always gives me good buys, so I wanted him to make something.
Now I have $750 profit and still have two sets.
I do think the sets will go higher, but there is something about having the cash in hand makes me feel good.

I hope you sold them for 750 each and not 750 for all 3!

Yes ... your right I should have posted better
I sold 3 sets for $750 each, totoal $2250
And I guess there is a couple ways to look at that.
Those 3 sets cost me $300 each, so the profit on the 3 sets could be $1350.
Or I paid $1500 for 5 sets. And now I have $750 cash and two sets, over what I paid.
All I can say I am very happy to been lucky enough to get my order in.

Not sure what is happening at the US Mint. I ordered three sets (two different orders) and my wife placed one order for two sets (five sets for our address). Of course, we spent a good couple of hours trying to place the orders and ended up with the system crashing many times. A few times, I got to the point of submitting the order and then encountered the system crash. I never received order confirmations (receipts) except for the three different orders placed between my wife and I.
Today, I received two "shipment confirmation" emails from the US Mint indicating they have shipped three more sets. I inquired the order numbers on the UPS website, but the tracking numbers reflect no status. Next step was to check my bank account and sure enough, I have been charged for three more coins sets. When received, I would now have eight sets, three more than the imposed limit of five. Did not intend to sell any, but guess I may do so now. Good thing I has sufficient funding to cover the additional surprises.

Thats crazy. Wonder how many other people slipped through the cracks when ordering more than the household limit.
P.S. With all the members that didnt get a set, you may not want to post this in public, you may get lynched! LOL!

Just noticing that UPS will be delivering my 4 sets, I had to chuckle at something that happened 3 years ago, right after UPS switched to the "I LOVE Logistics"(or WE)...anyway, my friend had been hospitalized, and, had to use a vacuum pump on her back wound..nasty situation that cleared up fine...it was time to return the pump, so, we had UPS pick it up next day, as per the medical center instructions....a week later, the same driver pulled into our driveway, I heard loud swearing coming from the truck, boxes being hurled to and fro, and, the driver about to have a stroke...he had JUST scanned THE SAME BOX we had returned the week before!Somehow, LOGISTICS sent it BACK to our address, and not the medical center....the driver was beyond livid at this point, ranting incoherently about Logistics..., and, more unmentionable sweet things not suitable for public viewing....he TOSSED the box into the Van and speed away......I always wondered what happened to that poor guy. So, if I get a vacuum pump from the mint, does anybody want it, unsealed, with the original Mint Label, for, say, $725?

Yea, I'm hoping the 2 TPG's will accept the box, Thats even if he's getting them graded. I did email him right away, through ebay, and his personal email address. I put a large bold warning, Do not open! If you plan on getting coins graded. Its the original US Mint Box. I just forwarded the package. See below for more details. Then I explained later in the email. I also added his email address to USPS Tracking System, so he received email updates. I guess the lady clerk was just trying to make the package secure. Cause after I replied it was Handle with care. She had three strips of that Priority Tape, (w/ blue white and red eagle on it.) Along the seam of the package. I mean it was so fast, before I could let out a huge gasp she was done... I gasped so loud I startled her. Feeling bad I just said, with a shrug It should be alright,. On all of the packages I received the label was on top of the tape. I thought about cutting it out but opted against it, in case I damaged the box. Plus when I picked at the label it peeled right up effortlessly. No skin from the box came up. Just the label. I should of just left the label. But for some reason, at that moment I said Ohh no.... Hes gonna have my address. Then as I was filling out the ship to at the post office, I'm filling out From:....I just shook my head and called myself a D&mb AS&. Then I remembered the order form is still in the box. lol If I wasn't so excited I'd probably wrapped it, or bought another box to fit Mint box in. The buyer asked to please get it their as fast as possible. I just checked and the box was delivered right after lunch,.. yesterday (Being its 4AM right now.) I spent the extra money and had restricted del, to help with any insurance issues, god forbid a problem arises. But I think all's good. Otherwise I'd probably already heard something. Clair.. Would the pay pal transaction be enough proof for the selling price. I sold it for $800 but insured it for $900 just to be safe. Thanks for the great info, Really excellent tip! Now I know what to do when I find another SBA Type2 and sell it.
