Or I paid $1500 for 5 sets. And now I have $750 cash and two sets, over what I paid.

Nice work....

Also Mach1: That RP is awesome!

Ilikeikes,
What ever happened with your 38382xxx backorder?

I'm wondering if there's any hope for my 38384xxx.

I'm supposed to have UPS delivery TODAY of my two Sets !

........ .........

And I still don't know what I want to do with them yet.
I'm leaving them in the delivery box until I decide......

My order was placed at 4:46 pm that day, for those interested.

Congrats Eaglefoot ... nice to hear you are getting your sets ..

I understand not knowing what to do with your sets.

Good idea to leave them in the mint shipping box .... until you know what you want to do with them

One of my friends is a vest pocket coin dealer.
He has been buying coins from the mint for years.
The common sets he is able to get all seem to decline in value after a few years.
But when something special like the 25th Anniversary set comes out,
he always seems to miss out.
So he says he is going to stop buying from the mint.

Anyone think there are crooks hijacking accounts to post the auction for this set, or 5 sets?
I see so many selling and many sellers only have
a few feedbacks, and some have never sold anything before.
Anyone heard about any rip-offs/scam artists on this set?

How do we spot a suspicious one?

My status for my 1 set, ordered at 5:29 pm has not changed...no tracking #, and, still "On Backorder", order #38322XX, so, that's that...my 4 -order set will be here by 1030 am today, unless I get that vacuum pump instead(see previous post)...
If you are nervous about ebay scammers swapping banged up coins for your good coins, and opening up a case(believe me, you'll lose every time), and, how will you know condition, selling sealed boxes--you can't prove anything...don't sell there...99% of sales will be smooth, and, yet, there will be a few unlucky sellers hit by the swappers...usually they have red flag "FEEDBACK REMOVED"...bet you a reverse eagle, if you write the seller on one of those cases, you will find horror stories galore...I am VERY negative about ebay these days, as I got burned badly this summer by a real pro...been doing it for 3 years on there, and never got busted, won every case...I'm taking my sets to my coin club meeting, and selling or trading there to my friends...won't lose 13%, and, they will be very happy to own one of these..
HINT...IF you sell opened sets online, TAKE PICTURES of each coin, both sides, and store the photo's until you have a positive feedback, and all is clear...it's just too easy for a coin swapper to cry foul, when it's just not the case...you have to protect yourself as much as possible these days.

Like many here, I have a few sets I want to sell. What alternatives are there to ebay? I really do not want to pay all of their ridiculous fees and whatnot. If I could get $750 per set like GR58 did with no strings attached, I'd jump on that!

ilikeikes, you need to leave the UPS shipping box unopened, if you wish the sets to remain "sealed". Once you open that box, they are now "unsealed".

I sold my box of 4 sets on ebay a couple days ago and stated in the auction that immediate payment was required. Well I hadn't seen payment for 24 hours, so I emailed the buyer stating that I would relist if I didn't receive payment by the end of the day. He wrote me back explaining that he bid from the airport and that he would send payment shortly and asked about upgrading to next day air shipping. I sent him a quote for the shipping and then the rest of the day went by without payment. So last night I get a message from him explaining that he is military and home for Thanksgiving from the Desert the day he bid and that USAA froze his accounts and CC/debit card to prevent fraud so he can't pay now and might not be able to for 10 days or something. He mentioned something in his message about a money order from Ft. Hood or something, although I think he was saying just to cover any fees I may be out, so that he can maintain his sparkling feedback rating.

I told him I understand, but I need the money (which I really do) and planned to relist the item. I wonder if I put them up for sale on CCF and asked for $3,400 (his winning bid) if I could avoid the relist and fees.

Thanks Bjones...I did figure it out, looking at the ebay pics...I'm so sorry about your payment hassle...no you have to wait 4 days to open the refund case, blah blah blah..I thought there was an option on ebay that REQUIRES immediate payment on a BIN...yours must have just sold on bids, and, that option is out..

That's what I was thinking as I sold something non-coin related earlier this year and the buyer never paid or responded, so I had to file the non-paying bidder dispute and wait like a week to relist. Then I only got 75% of the original price in my second auction.

However when I looked on my phone's ebay app earlier there is a button at the bottom of my auction that says "relist", so I'm wondering if that would actually let me relist or if it would take me to the dispute resolution center, etc?

Well, I had pretty much written off my order number 38381### made at 5:27pm Eastern Time but, judging by the order people are receiving, perhaps there is hope.

I am on the email list for Paradise Mint. I got an email this morning and they are selling the 25th Anniversary sets for $1,299.99 for 69's and $2,699.99 for 70's. Pretty pricey.
