At APMEX you can currently get a tube of 20 Mint Seales ASE's for $936 or a tube 25 Canadian Grizzlies for $1193. I tend to think that the premium on the Grizzlies would be the best investment. Any other opinions?

An ounce of silver is an ounce of silver, whether it is 99.9% or 99.99%. The lower purity coin just weighs a tiny bit more to make up the difference. Generally, lower purity gold and silver coins are harder than pure metal coins, so are less easily damaged. This is important for circulated coins, not so much for collectible coins that are protected from wear.

I more meant its a good reason because the Face value is slightly higher for the same amount of silver. That was if silver crashes to $3 /oz its at least worth $5.

Canada has already shown they won't honor their face values on NCLT.

If the face value was honored, then that would be a worthwhile aspect of it. Not that there is much likelihood that silver would drop to $3, of course. For that to happen, the currency would either have to become VERY strong, something that no government currently in power seems to consider as good, or there would have to be a HUGE increase in the amount of silver available. This assumes a relatively free market, of course. If cheating is involved then all bets are off.

Another vote for the Grizzlies. Limited to 1,000,000, it's nearing the end of that supply. The next in the series, cougars, are due out in October too, so a good time to buy grizzlies before they go up a bit or sell out. My only beef with the grizzlies is that they tend to come with hideous white patches on them (borax liquid stains during the minting process?) where as the ASE don't. Face value & silver content (as long as we're above 999) don't really matter in my books either. It's not like I'm ever going to spend it as $5 or $1, and I'm also buying in ounces, not 100s of pounds or tons, so the that last 9 on the SML's 9999 really makes little difference.

I have never owned a grizzly so can't really say, but I do love the ASE.... From what many a wise poster here at CCF seems to think, that the grizzly increases quicker in value. Perhaps along a similar pace to silver pandas, any thoughts?

Grizzlies have only been availavle for about 6 months. It now sells for ~$9 above spot. Th wolfs sells for ~$19 above spot, one year after issue. there's no telling though, if the grizzlies will go up as high as the wolfs since the wolfs is the first in the series of 4 non-standard silver maple leafs. Pandas are another beast altogether. The inconsistencies between Chinese mints often produce varieties within the same year, driving up the price of the pandas higher due to rarity, There's also the fact the China mints sill has not reported the mintages of a number of years, leaving the rarity (and therefor price) of some issues up to current availability and bigger fluctuations. I've bought and sold 400+ grizzlies with relative ease, whereas the pandas and ASE in my collection goes for less (in profit) and take a lot longer to sell.

I just can't bring myself to buy a coin with Queen Elizabeth on it. Seems like a real waste of a perfectly good side of a beautiful coin. I, like a lot of the realm's subjects, have a problem with a monarchy still having any meaning in the modern world. Thus I voted with my money and bought a Proof 70 Ultra Cameo Gold Buffalo. I'm absolutely addicted to that coin and the currency market is so messed up my belief in gold's future is as strong as ever. Plus I traded an uncirculated Buffalo with a few abrasions for a perfect proof for $150. I was feeling even better about gold because all of my Indian Half Eagles made a nice price jump this week.
