was looking through my photobucket account this morning
and forgot that I photographed this. I will have to raid
through the safe and see if I can find it.

I was wondering if anyone else sees an upside down
mint mark on this 1945 S Mercury dime ?

Thanks

Terry

Its a regular knot tail 'S', but has wear on the punch.

Look at this one selling on ebay.

Here's a better example, notice the sharp mint mark without wear, the bottom serif is slightly narrow than the curve on the top portion of the S.

with macmercury.

It looks like there are several different normal MM and this is one of them.

Check coin facts or Heritage Auctions.

Nope. Not inverted. See the pics of my inverted s dime on ebay. 271502693838Notice See the pinched area in the upper loop of the normal coin. Also notice the flat spot on the lower ball on the normal coin. I have two of these for sale on ebay. Looking at all offers. The coin in your photo shows a mint mark in normal orientation however, the size difference not usually seen on this coin I believe could be from a slightly tilted punch. What do you think?

Good Day! I had three new listings added to the WEXLER files for Inverted mint marks on the 1945 s Mercury dime. Please go to doubleddie.com to find the listings and photos under Mercury dime IMM's. I am sending them to ANACS soon. I wonder if these are the first 45 s dimes to carry the Inverted MM designation on the holders. Does anybody have a clue?
