Does anyone know what this is on the neck? Is it if any value?
I have never seen one like it. My dad found this coin in the early 1950's in Nebraska as a child.

that's called a counter stamp. Many coins are stamped for business promotion and advertizing, or to note a special event or date. Yours looks vaguely familiar to a company logo, but can't remember who It's PMD

Here is a similar type effect on a Lincoln Cent:

I don't think so, I was thinking more like Adidas (shoe brand)

EDIT - or a soccer ball in flight

These other pic images look very similar and the year makes sense of it being a "Flaming Bomb".
What would a value range be for this coin?

I do not know its value, other than its silver content. Someone else will have to speak on that subject.

This is damage, disfigurement, not a value-adder but a value-destroyer. There are a few counterstamps with the names of known merchants which have a certain collectability to those few who are interested, but this is just a random symbol punched into a coin.

It's killing me, it does look familiar. Not a shoe logo, I searched them for a while. Looks kinda like the Detroit Red Wings logo, but I don't think so.

Its official!
This same symbol is on a WW2 bayonet. An Ordnance insignia for ammo called the flaming bomb. Thanks all for your insight. It helped my dad get to the bottom of this mystery since he found it back in the early 50's.
