Looks like a cleaned, VG 1908s IHC, maybe worth $60 at most and a, probably dipped, 1909vdb.

easiest way to show unsearched rolls are fake why would anyone take all the time to photograph and set up this thread but they have too much to do to open up a roll of coins that could have 2 very expensive pieces in it please. This stuff has got to stop. It's unreal

Quote: Unsearched Estate Cent Roll with 1908 s or 1909 s Sheesh--you put it in there; don't you remember? The "S" is too far right for an '09; it must be 1908.

Yeah, I see that DV. 08-S for sure. Why doesn't ebay not allow the term "unsearched". We all know this is crapola.

Unsearched is pure conjecture--it cannot be observed or proven. At least with basement graders, there's a way to test their claims.

If YOU didn't SEARCH that roll and/or many others right here on this forum didn't SEARCH that roll, doesn't that make it an UNSEARCHED roll? As long as there is one person on Earth that never searched that roll, it is technically still UNSEARCHED. Maybe searched by many, but still not searched by all. I've got to hurry and submit my bid.

i wonder what the statistical odd really are that those two coins actually "randomly" ended up at the ends of any roll of coins. I somewhat doubt that that could have happened in 1909...let alone 2011.

The odds are astronomical, particularly since these sellers have multiples of such rolls. Oh of course--"unsearched"--by me. I'm not sure there's much hope in educating people who would actually bid on such things.

I like the ones where there is a gold coin on one end and a 1909-S LWC showing. Yeah, here is a thought. Let's put it on ebay and not open it ourselves if it were truly unsearched

Yea, the gold end coin guy is a complete joke. Funny, he's the luckiest guy in the world because he apparently found several "unsearched" rolls with gold coins on the end. LOLOLOLOL

If Allen and Ton have taught me anything, it's to bid on what I can see, not what I can't. This isn't ebay's fault, and they shouldn't be forced to take these auctions down. Sellers do this, because buyers flock to these auctions and all think they're getting 50 gold coins for $400. Once people wise up and stop bidding ridiculous amounts on these kinds of auctions, they'll disappear.

The end of the roll looks just like they do when I roll the ends up.
Not to be confused with folding the ends up.
I hope this makes cents. ooops

The other thing that should be a dead giveaway is they'd like you to think these rolls were put back as early as the early 1900s. Shotgun rolls didn't become commonly used until the late 1960s. Quote:This isn't ebay's fault, and they shouldn't be forced to take these auctions down. Really? How about aiding and abetting a fraud?
