Thanks again to Coppercoins for this great post on a topic seen here everyday! If you don't have it, bookmark it now for future reference.

I knew I had it bookmarked and referenced it again for this 1983 LMC and put it out there for those that might not have seen it yet. This 83 Reverse is struck slightly off centered while obverse appears off center with maybe a partial broadstrike, not sure. Common for a 83. I hope I got this correct and not giving out bad info.

Reverse ONE CENTS quite obvious to me to be MD. Everyone agree?

I've been looking for the 1983 for a long, lomg time....they are indeed rare. For certain - I've looked at several thousand 1983's and have never found one.

It is not 1DR-001, or, 002...BUT, you have significant notching going on here...you CAN have MDD & DDR issues at the same time, which, I think, may be the case here...the notching looks strong enough, if this were my cent, I'd get it out to Bob Piazza, or BJ Neff, or your fav. attributor for examination asap...you may have a new listing for DDR...

The lower left of the "C" is MD but I think Ikes might have something. looking at the right edge of the "C" does look like a possible DD

Ok, here are more, some requested, and sorry I think they are about the best I can do. One light source, different lightings though, even filtered.

I'm just a Novice with the LMC, I'm not convinced there's anything but MD.

This first one is misleading even to me. It was taken with the Lighthouse USB Microscopic camera. the multiple LED lights I think gives the misleading appearance of something on the inside of the C.

If positioned at the right angle using a 10x loupe I detect what I would term as notching on the inside SW to NW edge. I can't get a pic of it though.

I still see only Machine Doubling. The areas in question you can see where the die movement pushed the metal. It is from a normal die.
