In the last 20 years, I could have bought an 8*15 walk-in with time lock bank door for $100,000, and a 15*30 walk-in with time lock bank door for $100,000, and a 15*30 walk-in with time lock bank door, plus a second one under it with standard vault door for $150,000.
The first came with a 20,000 sq ft modern building, the second with an older 30,000 sq ft building plus 90-car parking lot.

I could have got a (approximately) 15x30 walkin safe for around $65k with a relatively nice 3500sf building.

There is a bank in the town where my gas station is that is for sale for $125k with a functioning vault. It has been for sale for about 2 years and was like 300k when it was originally listed. It would be cool to have your own bank and vault.

Quote: Especially if you could change the combination that opens it. Huh? that implies you can't change the combo? Ever?

Uh, no, it does not imply that the combo cannot be changed. The issue is whether or not YOU can do it.

I like the responses. However...I'd like to remind everyone that we're talking about a $180,000 safe. The shipping weight is only 500 pounds, according to the Amazon web site. That's not much of a safe in my book, so unless they just had to put a number there, perhaps the safe itself is made of gold.... no, that would be about a $14M safe... hmmm maybe silver? no, that's $320k. I'm perplexed. And amused.

Well, it is from Frontgate, after all. That's the kind of thing that they're hoping to sell to bored first-class passengers that have had a few too many complimentary vinos.
Funny stuff, thanks for digging that info up, GO! :)
