Hello all, just wondering your thoughts on this. It weighs 2.5g-2.6g and at first I thought struck on a dime planchet but weighs to much. Not sure if the copper plating is missing but if it was would it not weigh less then a normal cent. Thank you for the help.

More than likely the coin is plated.I have seen many of these and believe that they are used for a Maison ritual.

I think you can do that to a zincoln with a hot flame.

It's not plated. It weighs at or less than the weight of a normal coin.

If anything, something has eaten the copper off the surface.

Either way, it's not an error - it's a damaged coin.
