Hi all. I am having a problem with the US Mint and would like to know of the best way to deal with it. Here is the story.

I ordered a 20th anniversary 3 coin eagle set which the mint said they had shipped on Nov 17th. It was sent FEDEX international priority insured. A month has passed so I rang Fedex to find out what is going on. Fedex have a tracking number but say they have no consignment number so they didnt receive the set from the mint to ship. Its always great dealing with an Indian call centre when you need help with a problem as well. All they could offer was contact the Mint. The mint were worse to deal with, their advice.... just wait it might arrive today..ahh huh. The customer service person would not entertain the prospect of it not being in the hands of Fedex...her computer told her it had been sent.

After looking on the US Mint site it appears you cant lodge a query / complaint via email. I may be wrong and not looked in an obscure part of the website...lol

Any help on how I might get the Mint to listen to my problem would be appreciated. After all, the product is insured and in the end all I want is the set of coins

I hope you receive you coins sometime in the future...Many collectors on this website have been sitting down at their computer in the morning, afternoon, sometime evening every few hours waiting for confirmation that their coins have shipped, such as, ASE, S.F., ASE Unc, etc. And not getting the confirmation, but an extension estimated shipping date.

In other words, many individuals are not happy with the US Mint customer service right now. Probably the entire US Mint agency.

As for a help, I would keep trying the US Mint customer service. I have had great experience with them as long as I was very patience but you have every right to be angry.

Draknoor, I'm not too sure but it can be possible that the Australian customs is holding it. I was taxed 10% for the item declared over 200aud worth and they held it for at least 2 good weeks or so.

Supposely if a parcel from the US to Australia took 1 week or so, which is the normal time for me and another 2-3 weeks from the customs, you might getting them soon, hopefully the customs not being a moron.

Thanks for your replies. I will be contacting the mint again after the weekend. I cant help feel it might be more useful to email them. They seem to feel differently by the looks of it with no email address for this sort of thing...lol. I hope I can convince them it shouldn't be too hard for them especially as they sent it insured, getting them to listen seems to be the problem. Still, I am a little fish in their big pond so I will see how it goes..lol thanks again :)

Thought I would post a follow up. Contacted the mint again, this time I got a not so grumpy person who listened to me and put me through to a senior claims officer. She was so happy to talk to an Australian that the conversation soon turned to how the was weather down under...lol She helped me through the steps to lodge a claim and even provided me with a fax number to expedite the claim. Today I received a refund for the eagle set but was not offered a replacement, which I would have preferred. Refund was minus the postage. At least I have a fax number and can annoy them at will now..lol

The Mint always sends me an Email saying your order number 000000 has been shipped. I would think they would have done that with you as well. So far I guess Iv'e been lucky getting all of my orders from them.
