I know, "colorizing is damage to a coin", most collectors hate it, and some people are against it 150%. I have two colorized coins: a GA Statehood Quarter (a novelty) and an ASE (got below spot price). Recently, I saw a colorized Sacagawea dollar on an auction site that I feel was a terrible job.

What's really sad is that there's a market for this junk.

I've seen a lot of colorized coins with a really coarse screen print like that. Who would buy something so crudely done?

a close second - disliked would be the gold plated coins - say the Statehood Quarter series. colorized is worse - but both are BAD.

On the bright side, at least it is only a face-value coin and not something that would have had a premium

I think that's an improvement on that coin series.

Not a fan, but to each his own. I agree it looks like a cartoon, like one from a superhero comic... BAM! POW! BANG! That type of comic.

I have a feeling I would be banned from the forum for the language I would use in expressing my opinion of that coin.

I find it amazing that someone might think that colorizing this coin in this way would actually improve its appearance. Yuk. I wonder what it would sell for. 99 cents?

It has already sold, but I didn't watch it to see the price, sorry. If another one is put up for auction, I will watch it.
