Stocks have rpoven to do better than gold in the long run, but gold is way cooler.

Bullion is cool but stocks will outperform.
The trick is deciding which ones.

Guns of course. As long as you have guns, you can get all the rest of those items. One of the greatest investments is to write books on how to make money in real estate.

Well, I guess I would have to re-evaluate based on this answer. In the "guns rule" world, I would invest in fractional silver.

cars dont last anymore, so unless you have a classic like myself I would say that is out stocks I think of more as a shorter term thing coins and bullion I think are going to stay high so if you bought a ton now I don't think they would increase in value that much antiques I don't think really gain too much either but I am not sure guns I guess same as above I choose bonds. I have a ton of them from my great aunt that will do really well once I cash them in. I have no idea the rates the ones you can buy now mature at but yeah that was my thinking. I want to buy a house for my investment that should be a choice "property"

I voted bullion, however I think coins are a good long term investment. For instance, take a coin cost guide from the 60's, 70's, or 80's and compare it to a RedBook today. Just about every coin has increased in value. It's fair to say all of our collections will be a profit in the future. Unless we horribly overpaid for everything we have.

Not todays modern ones, but some of the older ones are constantly climbing in value. Imagine buying a 1957 Chevy convertable in 1957 for about $3,000 and selling today for almost many, many thousands if kept in great shape. Of course that is over 50 years of storage and at what price? Mainly real estate, although not lately, has always been a fantastic investment item.

I didn't see real estate, so I voted for my #2, stocks. Don't get me wrong, gold and silver have their place, but they are used to protect wealth, not grow it. The last year for metals has been the exception, not the rule.

Diversification is the key to good investing. Putting all your eggs in one basket is a recipe for disaster. However, long term, stocks have historically beaten other investment vehicles. So, the younger you are the more stocks or stock mutual funds you should have in your portfolio.

The main thing here is some of the items listed are only good for either making or loosing money. Guns are OK as with cars but are limited to where you can use them, how to take care of them, lots of investing to have them. Stocks, bonds, bullion, etc are really just investing. Coins and Currency are not only profitable and should stay that way for some time, but mostly they are FUN. No special licenses requiired to use or have them No special parts no longer availble. No chance the company that made them will go out of buisness. (Hopefully) No rules about them in different States. Coins are really just a lot of fun, educational, used everywhere and a hobby that anyone, any age can enjoy.

If you are going to invest for a period of 20+ years, I think stocks would most likely do the best.
